5 things we love about Colorado

Happy Colorado Day!! Every August 1st, we say hooray for our great state. It was on August 1, 1876 that Colorado was admitted as as the 38th state into the Union by President Ulysses S. Grant. Colorado Day was first celebrated back in 1907.

To honor this day and the place we call home, we are sharing 5 things we love about the "Centennial State."

1. You can touch the sky

According to Colorad0.com, Colorado has the most 14'ers of any state. 14'ers are mountain peaks that top the 14,000 feet mark and we have 58 of them, including Pikes Peak, which inspired the poem "America the Beautiful." Colorado landscape is nothing short of majestic and with so many peaks to climb, anyone and everyone can find a way to explore the wilderness.

2. You can go deep

Colorado is home to not only the world's largest hot spring pool in Glenwood Springs, but it is also the home of the world's deepest hot springs in Pagosa Springs. The Mother Spring Aquifer is over 1,000 feet deep and provides a perfect spot to relax and unwind.

3. You can find fun for free

Many spots in Colorado offer "free days" where you can enjoy the best of the best without spending a single penny. These offerings allow us all to enjoy special moments at the Colorado National Parks, the Denver Art Museum, Botanic Gardens, the Denver Zoo, the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, and many other museums. Check out the dates here...

4. You can go back in time

Colorado holds some keys to the past in it's many sites of ancient ruins. Mesa Verde is proabably one of the most well known sites, however there are several others sites you can visit and get a glimpse of the Colroado past.

5. Fitness and sports are a way of life

Everyone knows that Coloradoans love their health, fitness, and sports teams. You can find a little bit of everything for every sports enthusiast here. We are lucky enough to enjoy Denver Broncos football , Colorado Rockies baseball , Colorado Avalanche hockey, Denver Nuggets basketball, Colorado Rapids soccer, Colorado Mammoth lacrosse, and the latest the Colorado Summit; our new professional ultimate frisbee team.

In addition to all of the amazing professional teams Colorado claims, we also have epic amounts of rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking, running, paddle boarding, golfing, kayaking, river rafting, tennis, pickle ball, skiing, snowboarding, and any other sport you can possibly dream up. There will never be a shortage of ways to challenge your mind and body amidst the marvelous Colorado backdrop.

Here are a few photos of us enjoying the great place we call home! We can't wait to see you out here joining us!

We love Colorado and there is nothing we love more than helping our clients experience the greatness as well. If you are considering making a move to or within Colorado, we'd love to help you find the perfect home to match your perfect lifestyle.
